Training Your Serama For Show

Chicks with bright red faces who chirp continuously are good candidates for training. This along with the way they carry themselves are signs of high confidence. A chick without confidence is a poor candidate for training.

First, grab the chick with both hands and place it on a table. The chick, at first will squat and refuse to move, but leave it there until it stands. Once the chick is standing, stroke it lightly on the throat underneath the wattles. This will encourage the chick to pose with its head held high.

Continue this exercise on a daily basis until the chick becomes familiar with this routine. After a while, posing with a regal stance becomes natural for most
Seramas.
