GOVERNING AUTHORITY

The name of the governing authority shall be the Serama Council of North America, which shall consist of eleven (11) members who shall be elected from member districts and states.

The members of the council shall receive no compensation.

Council district lines are drawn in order to provide fair and equal representation among council districts.

There shall be seven (7) council districts which districts shall conform to the

geographical areas listed.

District I shall encompass the entire geographical area of the Country of Canada.

District II shall encompass the geographical areas of the States of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Pennsylvania.

District III shall encompass the geographical areas of the States of Maryland, Delaware, The District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, and Ohio.


District IV shall encompass the geographical areas of the States of, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas

District V shall encompass the geographical areas of the States of Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma.

District VI shall encompass the geographical areas of the States of Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.


District VII shall encompass the geographical areas of the States of Hawaii, California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.


Each member shall be elected for a term of two years, commencing in January 2009, until that time district and state representatives and co-representatives shall be appointed by the founding fathers of the council.

A Board of Directors shall oversee the daily operations of the Council. This Board of Directors will include the Chair, Vice Chair, ABA/APA Liaison, Council Clerk, Council Treasurer and the seven District Representatives.

A Council Chairman, and a Council Vice Chairman shall be elected by and from among the Council District Representatives or Co-Representatives and shall serve for a two year, term commencing in January 2009.

A Council Clerk (secretary) shall be selected by the Board of Directors. The Council Clerk must be a SCNA member in good standing, qualified for the position and may be elected from any district or state. The clerk shall give notice of meetings of the council, prepare the council agenda, keep records of its proceedings and perform other duties, as the council shall prescribe.

A Council Treasurer shall be selected by the Board of Directrors. The Council Treasurer must be a SCNA member in good standing, qualified for the position and may be elected from any district or state. The treasure will maintain bank accounts, pay pal accounts, the members list (new and renewals) and band registry.

The office of council representative shall become vacant upon the death, resignation, or removal from office in any manner authorized by law. Said vacancy will be filled within thirty (30) days, by a majority vote of the remaining members
