Cajun Classic

Date and Location

April 10, 2010

Oak Alley Plantation has been selected as the primary site for the 2010 Cajun Classic. In the event of inclement weather, a backup site has also been secured, last year's venue. It will be a lawn show on the grounds of the premier tourist attraction in the South. Good news for those with RV's, parking is available on the grounds. A five star restaurant is also located there, serving traditional Louisiana cuisine, breakfast and lunch/dinner, sorry, no evening dining. A trip to Oak Alley is not complete without a tour of the mansion and manicured lawns, (more on this later). The weather in Louisiana is usually at it's finest in April; let's pray this continues.

The closest town to Vacherie, with a variety of chains is Thibodaux, 20 miles away. A new Day's Inn recently opened, a Hampton Suites and Inn is due to open in February. Holiday Inn and Howard Johnson are just down the road. Those traveling/driving in from the west may want to consider Gonzales, from the east, LaPlace. Flying in, Kenner, all are within 30-35 miles of Vacherie.
